We had a rally for Trayvon Martin at my school last night and it was crazy. I’ve never seen so many black people (and others too) in one place before united for a cause. Reports said there were over 5,000 people there—kids, families, students, lawyers, officials, etc. There were police, reporters, security, etc and the energy in the air was tangible. The few negative happenings didn’t ruin the event luckily. It was my first rally and I was so happy to see people representing from other races there too.

  • It still bothers me when other people flirt with you.
  • It still bothers me when other people call you names.
  • It still bothers me when you get so much attention.
  • It still bothers me when you talk to other people that like you.
  • It still bothers me when you hang out with people that like you.
  • It still bothers me when you don’t consider that these things bother me.

I actually have to listen to the album as the artist intended, all the way through, which has such a different quality.”
